SALADO
A Limited Edition Bronze
Designed by James Winnett and poured by Terry Gilbrith

The subject of this edition is an Ensor point, recovered by the late J.T. Smith, at a spring West of Salado, TX. and pictured here.

I know this point to be authentic.  I was with Granddad that hot Summer day in 1963 when he found this piece.  Granddad lived in Troy, TX most of his life, and made day trips over the Central Texas area, where his collection was accumulated.  This is a picture of the actual point he found that day.

As most of you know: Ensor points are designated Late Archaic to Early Woodland, 4,000 to 1,500 yrs. before present.

Terry made a rubber mold from this point.  He captured every detail, some ancient nameless knapper put into this piece of Georgetown flint, over 100 generations ago.  That old knapper was the artist.  We just copied his work, then put it in bronze.

This limited edition is dedicated to that ancient artist that formed it, and to Granddad, who recovered it eons later.

150 is the number to be made.  When the 150th is poured, the mold will be destroyed.  Each piece to have a serial number.  Hopefully this low production number will allow faster value appreciation.

Comes mounted on a piece of angled mesquite wood. (Each piece of wood is a little different).  The piece is designed to give a dimensional view of both sides.  You may have your choice of the point being glued or left un-glued as to allow the point to be removed from the base and closely inspected.

This point is 3 1/4" from tip to base and 1 1/4" at it's widest.  Picture above will give a good idea of the size of the displayed piece.

The price is $125 each.  Texas residents include $10.31 tax.  Insured shipping is $5.00 within Cont. U.S.  Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery.  The process is very time consuming.

For dealers or collectors looking for something to trade or just put up for a while; a 10% discount applies to any purchase of 10 or more.  You may request a particular serial number, if it is still available.

Look for future limited edition art work, using different artists and mediums.  All will be designed by myself, using knapped flint for subject matter.
