The purposes of The Lone Star State Archaeological Society shall be:
| 1. | To promote the study of archaeology, especially in the geographical area of Texas and surrounding environs. |
| 2. | To encourage the keeping of records through cataloging of relics and sites for historical and scientific value. |
| 3. | To promote the preservation of important archaeological sites and to cooperate in salvage archaeology. |
| 4. | To discourage the display and selling of modern-made artifacts that are represented as ancient. |
| 5. | To encourage publication of useful reports of archaeological interest to members. |
| 6. | To promote legislation favorable to this organization, archaeology, and the study and collection of artifacts. |
