I've found some interesting pieces on the neighbors farm behind me,he cleared a wooded area along a stream for spring pasture. I have recovered multiple shards ,three crude blades and what appears to be an unfluted clovis type point(one lobe damaged). This could be a greenville type point although the flaking patern implies paleo. the area is over 150 yards by 80 yards, sloping toward the stream.
Glad to hear your Overstreet arrived! I've had one ordered for a while. A collegue found a hopewell base sunday(red jasper) as always it would have been an outstanding specimen.
Hey David, I lived in Matthews for a few years, that made us practicaly neighbors. Welcome to the forum. Post a picture in the "what did I find thread", folks will help you out.
Hi. I found a spearhead in the creek and I'm having trouble identifying it. It is tan colored and 5" long and shaped like a "colbert " It has a stem and serrated edges

2011 was a good year for artifact hunting. I was excited to find my first Kirk Corner Notch preform that was 3in long and 2in wide. (one of my largest points ever) I hope that 2012 will be even better. More importantly than artifact hunting, I want to draw closer to Jesus this year. In the book of James 4:8 it says that if we get close to God, He will get close to us.
