museum artifacts

Paul R Frey

Here's how it works. Museums do carry authentic and very valuable artifacts. But normally when they sell something, it's not these that they part with. Museums are rarely heavily funded, therefore can't afford to buy the better things. They will go for copies and display those. What you bought, the shield and jawbone club, are copies. They are worth, together, about what you paid, or less.

AWOL from AH.com

Chuck Elston

I'm still not back into the swing of hunting and posting on AH.com.  Have had the grandkids for the summer and have been spending a lot of time out on Dale Hollow Lake just down the road.  They just returned to Florida in time to start school so we'll see them again probably round Christmas.  Unfortunately, I had to put my long-time friend "Jim" down while they were here.  Jim is the horse in my avatar.  He was about 38 years old and was just going down hill sooo fast.  After the vet left, my youngest grand daughter, 4 yr old Lilly, wanted to go to the vets office so she could "hit her real hard" for hurting Jim.  We didn't realize that Lilly had sneaked out on the back porch and watched as we put him down.  I guess she just didn't understand cause she had ridden Jim around the yard about 2 weeks prior.  Oh, Well.  Sometimes life just hurts.  Hey - on the lighter side - I got approved for my VA hearing disability and will be getting some hearing aids soon.  Wife says now I got no excuse for not hearing her - cept for the  volume control Heh Heh Heh!!!  Hope to get back in stride hunting and posting finds sooooooon   ---Chuck

Please Help Us!

Jon Harris

I am needing to sell apart of my arrowhead collection.  My 6 month pregnant wife, my 3 yr old,and I are homeless.  We are living in a tent down by the river.  Three months ago I fell of a ladder and shattered my right wrist , well two surgeries later it's in a cast.  I have been in a cast for 3 months now and wont get this one off until late sept.  My wife's company closed there doors for good two  months ago so, now the has become jobless as well. If anyone is interested in these artifacts please contact me at (417)259-9223 thank you

Can anyone identify this point. I found it in a church entrance near the Sussex Co. Line in Virginia. It came out of a pile of sand that I think came out of a sand pit near from what I have been told is Catcus Hill. I also own river front property in Sussex on the Nottoway River, not far from what I have been told is the site. Cannot find a match in any of the books that I have. Saw a point almost just like it on Ancient Discoveries, http://iceage.pwnet.org/. 2" long and 3/16" wide, made from a green shale slate material. Not good at rock types. Would have been perfect if a few vehicles had not run over it and chipped the edges.
