Found very unique maul partially buried as can be seen by stain line.  Most of it was buried only exposing about one quarter.  Very heavy, 40 pound grooved maul with extreme wear on both surfaces and a large flake missing from heavy blow.  Measures 12"x 9" at largest part.  Could have been used to drive wooden posts?
