Still Round

Chuck Elston

Hey Guys 'n Gals - I'm still around.  Been real busy catch'n up on work etc.  Also, a real set back, had both computers go down just after the Grandkids left. HUM!!  Anyway some kinda virus on both that took out the hard drives.  We're back but minus  some $$$.  We never  seem to have these problems until someone visits???  Went hunting again but still haven't found anything.  Guess my haunts are drying up and I need to get some newer hunting grounds.  Still playing around with these new gimmicks on AH.com.  Can't accepty new friend requests and not sure how I go about it.  Oh, Well,  Andrew will figure it out eventually!!!    ---Chuck

AWOL from AH.com

Chuck Elston

I'm still not back into the swing of hunting and posting on AH.com.  Have had the grandkids for the summer and have been spending a lot of time out on Dale Hollow Lake just down the road.  They just returned to Florida in time to start school so we'll see them again probably round Christmas.  Unfortunately, I had to put my long-time friend "Jim" down while they were here.  Jim is the horse in my avatar.  He was about 38 years old and was just going down hill sooo fast.  After the vet left, my youngest grand daughter, 4 yr old Lilly, wanted to go to the vets office so she could "hit her real hard" for hurting Jim.  We didn't realize that Lilly had sneaked out on the back porch and watched as we put him down.  I guess she just didn't understand cause she had ridden Jim around the yard about 2 weeks prior.  Oh, Well.  Sometimes life just hurts.  Hey - on the lighter side - I got approved for my VA hearing disability and will be getting some hearing aids soon.  Wife says now I got no excuse for not hearing her - cept for the  volume control Heh Heh Heh!!!  Hope to get back in stride hunting and posting finds sooooooon   ---Chuck

Still eatin' CROW!!!

Chuck Elston

Hey ya'll -  Again sorry about the "long time no see" routine.  It's been one thing after another.  The wife is really doing great and has been released by her Dr.   Have caught a couple of construction jobs that will add a little income to pay some bills (hospital type).  A   couple of weeks ago my horse got into a hornets nest and I just about lost him.  Took about 3 days to get him back to normal.   Then 2 days ago I go out and he has a rattlesnake bite on his shoulder.  His leg and entire chest was swollen about three times its normal size.  Although snake bites usually don't kill horses, Ole Jim was not fully recovered from the hornet attack.  He's not doing well at all and being 38 years old, he just aint bouncing back.  I'm a thinking that I may have to put him down.  Gonna hate that.  But - anyway - I appologize for not getting back into action on AH.com but I'll get there.  I did take my grand daughter  AH hunting and she found a broken point.  Got excited cause that was her first.  Maybe get her hooked.  Catch ya'll later  ---Chuck

Delinquincy

Chuck Elston

Gotta appologize to all my friends on AH.com.  I ain't ignorine ya'll just really been super busy lately.  The wife's getting better everyday and is starting to get back to norm.  I have been working away from home on a construction project, but only for a couple of days.  Now I'm trying to catch up at home.  Ain't been hunting in a bit but am gonna fix that soon.  My construction buddy, who is a backpacker, gave me his GPS cause he got a new one.  Now I'll be able to pinpoint all my finds on GPS and transfer all that info to computer for permanent record.  Ah well - back to work.  Ya'll take care - Ya hear!!

Slack'n Off

Chuck Elston

Wow! Can't believe I ain't been huntin in over 3 weeks.  What with all the rain, the wife's surgery and some temp work, I just haven't had the time.  Gotta get back in the groove.  Still find time to go on AH.com and look at the forums but not spending nearly as much time as I did in the past.  I'll get it back - just gotta slow down a bit first.  Blackberries are getting ripe.  I see the turkeys out eating them everyday now - so, blackberry picking is in my future also.

Gorgeous Weather

Chuck Elston

It's been splendid wx lately.  No rain but hot as hades.  Ground is as dry as a popcorn fart.  Need to mow the grass but fraid I'll kill it without some rain.  Need some real hard rain so's I can go hunting also.  Gotta have runoff and washouts before I can find anything.  Maybe go back to digging again to break the monotony or mayhaps walk the creek for awhile.
