The safety and well being of your artifacts, while in transit, is up to you.  Please package your artifacts adequately and use your own judgment when evaluating and insuring your packages.  I cannot be responsible for damaged or lost mail.

Wrap each artifact separately in bubble wrap, with rubber bands to secure the bubble wrap.  Please do not use tape to secure the bubble wrap, it makes it difficult to unwrap the pieces and actually increases the chance of damaging the artifact while trying to un-package it.

Place the artifact or artifacts in a box with sufficient padding between the shell of the box and the artifacts.  I suggest using newspaper or Styrofoam peanuts.  For extra security, you may want to double box your shipment by placing a smaller box (containing the artifacts), inside a larger box with additional padding.

I will sometimes use the same packing material when the package is returned.  If I feel packaging is inappropriate, I may choose to use my own.  In any case, I use priority mail for virtually everything I ship.
