Breaking Out of a Frames Page We know that it can be frustrating to get stuck in a frame while surfing the net. It makes it impossible to bookmark the specific page you are viewing, and you are never really sure who's website you are at. We use frames on many of our pages at Arrowheads Dot Com. There are very good reasons for using frames. It can make the navigation within a website much easier, and provides a way to present scripts that are running behind the scenes, in a much more pleasing format. There is a very simple way to "Break Out" of a frame. When you get ready to follow a link from one page to another, click your right mouse button and select "open in new window" from the pop up menu. This will open another browser window, and will allow you to see the true URL of that page in the address bar. You will also be able to bookmark that page, and return to that precise location by using your favorites menu. If you have already clicked to a page, simply use your back button to go back to the page you clicked in from. Then use the "open in new window" option to return to the desired page. I hope this helps folks |
